Frequently Asked Questions

Medical ID Jewelry

1. How do I know what size bracelet to get?

Sizing varies with the type of bracelet.  Some are adjustable.  Others, like the SOS-ID bracelets, come in men's and women's sizes that work for most adults.  However, links can be added or removed, if needed.  Contact us if you feel you will need extra links, so we can send them with your order.

Our children's bracelets come in a variety of sizes. If you do not see one that fits your child, contact us for suggestions.

2. How do I measure my wrist?

The easiest way is to take a piece of string and wrap it around your wrist, where you intend to wear the bracelet.  To get a comfortable bracelet fit, typically you should add about half an inch to the snug measurement.

Some of our armbands are adjustable.  Others, such as the SOS-ID bracelets, have link extensions available if needed.

If you are measuring for a bead bracelet, please allow at least one additional inch for breathing room.

3. What information belongs on my medical ID jewelry?

You should include the information that you would like shared in the event that you are unable to communicate for yourself, such as your medical condition(s), a phone number to call in case of an emergency, and your doctor's name and telephone.

Other suggestions for your Medical ID Tag:

Your full name
Your phone number
Your home address
Your blood type
Medical problems
Allergies
Emergency contact
Medical insurance
Organ donor information

4. Why don't you offer engraved medical jewelry?

Engraved jewelry has distinct limitations, including:

Limited space:  Engraving limits your medical summary to a few words - often that's not adequate.
Expensive updating Engraving is "permanent" but medical conditions and medications change.
Lack of privacy Your sensitive medical data is in open view - personal privacy is sacrificed for security.

There are medical ID options that offer more flexibility and privacy than engraved jewelry.  Those are the ones we focus on.
